Thejudgelaidhimselfouthospitalitytomakethemhaveagoodtime,andiftherewasadefectanywhere,itwasnothisfault。 Hetoldthemagoodmanyhumorousanecdotes,andalwaysforgotthenub,buttheywerealwaysabletofurnishit,fortheseyarnswereofaprettyearlyvintage,andtheyhadhadmanyarejuvenatingpullatthembefore。Andhetoldthemallabouthisseveraldignities,andhowhehadheldthisandthatandtheotherplaceofhonororprofit,andhadoncebeentothelegislature,andwasnowpresidentoftheSocietyofFreethinkers。Hesaidthesocietyhadbeeninexistencefouryears,andalreadyhadtwomembers,andwasfirmlyestablished。
