Theygaveadinnertocelebratetheevent。TheLushkarteamcame,andDirkovitchcame,inthefullestfulluniformofaCossackofficer,whichisasfullasadressing-gown,andwasintroducedtotheLushkars,andopenedhiseyesasheregarded。TheywerelightermenthantheHussars,andtheycarriedthemselveswiththeswingthatisthepeculiarrightofthePunjabFrontierForceandallIrregularHorse。LikeeverythingelseintheServiceithastobelearnt,but,unlikemanythings,itisneverforgotten,andremainsonthebodytilldeath。
