Nevertheless,itwasannoying.AsIsatinthestreetcaronmywayhomeward,amanbesidemewasreadingthePilot.Ihadaqueersensationasheturnedthepage,andscannedtheeditorial;andIcouldnothelpwonderingwhatheandthethousandslikehimthoughtofme;whathewouldsayifIintroducedmyselfandaskedhisopinion.Perhapshedidnotthinkatall:undoubtedlyhe,andthepublicatlarge,wereusedtoMr. Lawler\'sdailydisplayof\"injustices.\"Nevertheless,likeslowacid,theymustbeeatingintothepublicconsciousness.Itwasanoutrage—— thisfreedomofthepress.
